Programmed in LSDJ 4.8.5 at 255BPM (Tempo: 170; Groove: 4/4)
Recorded with a CGB-001 (bass + noise-filtering pro-sound mod)
Runtime it took to compose: 22 hours, 0 minutes
Inspired by music you tend to find in rhythm game simulators (StepMania, Lunatic Rave 2, osu! etc.)...and also the usual 1xLSDJ-core done by YZYX. :~) And to a lesser extent, the Ratchet & Clank OSTs.
It's always so much fun to push a single LSDJ cartridge to its utmost limit. We could use some more hardcore styles under specific chip restrictions. I've always loved the Game Boy for its thick, raw sound, especially since it's excellent for replicating that IDM/hardcore sound--shame that the amount of IDM/hardcore programmed in it is rather scarce, and it's difficult to get a hold of the resources to actually learn the techniques used. I hope to change that. :)
I will be providing the .lsdsng and its respective kits to the track upon acceptance/release within my 2a03.free.fr
repository, so you can learn many of the techniques and principles I've learned/stolen/deciphered from various artists, or if you refuse to believe that this is really a 1xLSDJ track. ;)
Shoutouts to the FlashFlashRevolution community for introducing me to a crapton of music! Also, shoutouts to rosemary-the-skunk for the title idea. There's also a Wanderlust (The Quick Brown Fox) reference somewhere (hence the title 'Wanderflux'), in reference to the previous drama that happened 2 years ago with a now-defunct netlabel that I used to be a part of. ;) Also, this composition is just me wandering ('Wander-') around multiple styles, key/time signature changes and whatnot rapidly, and coming back to the YZYX inspiration, he did a few super-kickass compositions that had '-flux' suffixes.
